Gameplay
The game allows the player to compete against up to five other players online in Arcade Mode, and compete against various arcade opponents in both Championship Mode and World Mode. The game supports up to two players using separate controllers, and up to four players using one controller each, both locally and online. Some levels include hazards, which slow down the cars, such as snow or sand, or make driving through a particular point illegal. These hazards are represented by gauges that can be filled by racing around the track.

Characters
The game features a total of 14 playable characters: seven from the first series, seven from the second series, and a fourth character called a Rookie in the Arcade Mode and World Mode. Four of these characters, referred to as the "All-Stars", are each named after a car they resemble and as a tribute to those cars. Each of the characters have their own special skills, such as the Sharan and Black Violon. The first series features the race course, an elaborate driving course made entirely of large neon lights that change colors as the game progresses.
